This way as I help new players plan to get into a specific fit, I can import the fit, import a skill plan for a new player, and see what other fitting skills they might need to add to their plan. I do this today by manually creating a character to see if I thought of everything.
Or it would be even better if EFT could export a recommended skill plan for a new player that takes into consideration fitting skills (CPU/Powergrid/Upgrade skills etc) for a particular fit that they could then import into EVEmon.
EVEMon has the ability to export any character in EFT format. Also from within the Skill Planner you get the ability to export a character in EFT format as it would be after completing that plan.
@Gripen Thanks for a great app. |

A) Actually it doesn't. EFT could be merged to EVEMon as it's own project. It can be available as a tool under the Tools option.
B) Actually it doesn't. EVEMon has been developed from different people over the years, thus the "EVEMon Dev Team". Gripen can still be in control of his project and on top of it, many others could contribute on the project and make it even better. The only drawback to this is that Gripen will have to release the source code of EFT on an open source licence (EVEMon is released under GPLv2). And that is something, I guess, Gripen doesn't want. |

Danny Husk wrote:Just FYI: the skill "Mechanic" was the victim of some fit of trivial renaming mania at CCP recently. It is now called "Mechanics." This doesn't appear to make any difference in EFT if you edit a character's skills manually or download from an API key, but EFT now fails to read the value for this skill in .chr files exported by EVEMon (since EVEMon uses the new name, and EFT seems to ignore the line for "Mechanics" as something it doesn't recognize). And this is why we at EVEMon Dev Team decided, a long time ago, to rely on skill IDs rather than names. My suggestion would be that Gripen changes the chr format to include the skill ID (the names could be maintained for readability) and parse that instead of the name. We can easily adjust the exported format on our side but would appreciate if Gripen would let us now on his intentions, before we release the upcoming 1.6.0 version, which is scheduled for mid next month. |

Arianazz wrote:I have a quick question , apologies if its been covered already.
I cant seem to get EFT to show prices for modules and ships.
I know it pulls the information from Eve Central but it doesnt seem to be doing this for me.
Is that function still there or do i need to change some setting in EFT?
Thanks.
PS love the program. AFAIK EVE Central changed something to its API so maybe Gripen has to look into that and adjust the code.
